Wheat Dalia is a common breakfast in northern India .RegularWheat Dalia takes time to get cooked but now a days smaller pieces of this is available in Indian stores which gets easily cooked in less than ten minutes.Best part of this dish is one can add vegetables of your choice.
Ingredients required
1 cup wheat Dalia
2 tabspoon oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
A pinch of hing (asoefatieda)
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon of Garamond masala
Vegetables
1/2 cup finely chopped cauliflower
1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup fresh green peas
1/2 cup potatoes (diced in small pieces)
2 table spoon finely chopped green coriander,ginger,green chillies
In a thick bottom or non stick pan put oil and when it gets heated then add hing and mustard seeds .When it starts crackling then pour Dalia and start stirring till it gets roasted .After five minutes add turmeric and chilli powder stir and then add all vegetables.Stir well and add 2and half cup water .
Let it cook for next five minutes till Dalia and vegetables tender.Turn off the burner and add Garam masala ,coriander,chillies,and ginger.Stir and it is ready to serve after putting some butter or ghee over it.
Tips. Vegetables should be chopped finely .
Calorie conscious can avoid butter or ghee.
